| I thought some of the track guapos.....I mean gurus might appreciate some of this stuff:-) Just a few pictures of the slow progress on my project car. I’m trying to have this done by October for our annual company car show. I’m not sure I’ll make it but at least it is good motivation with a deadline. This turned into a ground up resto-mod although that wasn’t the original plan. Everything in the pictures is basically new or rebuilt with really great parts from CZP, SZ and SPL. We have outstanding vendors supporting us!!! I’ve started at the bottom rear and I’m working my way up and forward. This picture shows the new rear hubs, modified backing plate for big brake kit, ARP studs, “original” emergency brake shoes that stick out like a sore thumb, Zeal Function Xs coil overs, SPL Pro lower control arms, traction rods, camber arms, solid subframe bushings and a modified and reinforced rear subframe. I’ve even got structural foam in the subframe! Kuah was kind enough to share his expertise and design info on the subframe so it is essentially his pro subframe mods with a few of my own. This is as much of the subframe mods as I can show out of respect for Kuah and my appreciation for his help.
This one shows the Stop Tech rear BBK 13 – inch rotor and ST-22 caliper from MR. Z Parts himself, Coz! Gotta love those group buys!
This is the real money shot but you can’t really see most of it. Some of you will notice the really nice/exotic shock bushings from SPL. Every other bushing orifice on the multi link has a similar counterpart. I’ve also got the Hicas Eliminator from SPL and the power steering fluid lines to the rear unit have been completely removed. The rear diff bushings are Nismo. I didn’t want to go solid with the drive train mounts. There is hidden Quaife LSD and Leader Gears in the diff set up by Specialty Z’s expert! Gas tank was removed and reinstalled with all new hoses, fuel pump and undercoating. I also undercoated the places Nissan doesn’t get to with the fuel tank already installed when they shoot the stuff.
This one shows the SPL front fender braces and how much friggin more work I have to do! I do have the front suspension on this side now but no pictures yet.
I’m off to Montana to visit in laws and fly fish in heaven for the next two weeks. There’s always something that keeps me from working on this thing! This trip will be a needed diversion though.
